His training brings together the fields of critical image theory, visual studies, and editorial practices, with particular attention to the tensions between materiality, memory, and politics in contemporary Latin American photography and literature.
Alongside his academic trajectory, he developed a career as a cultural journalist and as an editor and curator of contemporary photography, work he channeled through Letargo Editorial, an independent platform dedicated to contemporary Latin American photography that he founded. His curatorial work has extended to Spain, with exhibitions in Madrid and Barcelona. He has taught at college level in Chile and has received competitive funding from the Chilean Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage.
His work has been recognized with the Rodrigo Rojas de Negri National Prize for young talent in photography (2025) and the Shannon Michael Cane Award (2025), presented by Printed Matter in New York.
